Board of Directors:

President:- Kevin Read........ Vice President:- John Barker

Secretary:- Mike James........ Treasurer:- Tony Burden

S.C.B.A. Secretary:- Mike James

The Board of Directors is to consist of the elected officers and team captains or nominated representative.

The Premier Fours League will bowl each Monday at 8.15 PM, starting Monday 8 September 2008 and will bowl for 36 weeks (4 times round) excluding Carnival Night 17 November 2008, and the following dates, 29 December 2008, Easter Monday 12 April 2009, 4 May 2009 and 31 May 2009.  The League will finish on Monday 22 June 2009.  Challenge Shield and Presentation Night will be Monday 29 June 2009.

The League is to be a CONTRACT LEAGUE, which means that we enter into a contract to pay for 8 Teams x 4 Players = 96 games of bowling each week even if a match has been postponed.  Should this occur the Control Desk, must be informed and the game rearranged.  A voucher will be issued that must be produced at the time of the makeup is bowled. The voucher will be given to the Treasurer on payment of fees.

The League is to be sanctioned by the B.T.B.A., therefore all players must be members of the B.T.B.A. (BTBA membership is £21.00 through League or £25 if direct)

Each team is permitted to register 8 players. All bowlers B.T.B.A. fees to be paid on the first night they bowl to be eligible to play and should be registered with the Secretary 48 hours before the game. Any player whose registration is received less than 48 hours before the game may only bowl with the permission of the opposing Team Captain. No team will be allowed to register a new player within 4 weeks of the end of the League.

The League will be handicapped, based on 75% of 210 with a maximum of 65 pins for both men and ladies. Players handicaps will be calculated from their averages carried over from the previous season for the first 3 matches they play, new bowlers to the league will have handicaps calculated from their first 3 games bowled. The minimum legal line-up of a team is 2 registered players plus 2 blind scores and the blind score is 140 with no handicap.

Points will be awarded on a 25 point system, 1 point for each head-to-head game with 1 point also for pinfall and 2 points for each game won and 2 points for total pinfall including handicap, should any team achieve the maximum 24 points then a “Bonus” of 1 point will be awarded.

It is the responsibility of the team bowling on the left lane to ensure the score sheet is fully completed and Team Players names are entered first.  Any team failing to return their score sheet to the Secretary will not be eligible for any points for the match. It is the winning teams responsibility to return the score sheet. In the event of the opposing team failing to bowl, as scheduled, the team bowling will be awarded the points for each game and the points for pinfall as well as the “Bonus” point for winning all 24 points.

Any postponed games not paid for will be deducted from that teams prize money at the end of the season.

The prize committee will be the Board of Directors.  Team and individual bowlers must bowl at least one third of the maximum number of games possible to be eligible for any prize.  Team and individual prizes will be awarded from the first night of bowling, unless a player does not have a calculated handicap carried over from last season, then only for their performances after 9 games have been bowled.

In the case of a “Championship Tie” the teams concerned will bowl a 3 game series based on the “25 point” system, including handicap.  Any scores bowled will not be included for the team or individual prizes.  In the case of a draw (12-12) the Team with the highest overall pinfall with Handicap will be declared the Winners.

The Management of the Bowl request that the time allocated for practice should also be used to assess the suitability of the approaches and any associated equipment. If any problems or issues exist it is the responsibility of the bowler to inform the control clerk, also should any bowler injure themselves within the bowl they should also inform the control clerk and have the incident noted in the accident book, this is for Health and Safety reasons.
